Two of you, one set of bills

A budget for one person is simple. Yours has two of you in it. That often means two different paychecks, a joint account, a few personal cards, and an open question about who paid for the big grocery run.

Splitting everything down the middle is easy. But when one of you earns more, the same bills take a bigger bite out of one paycheck. And keeping a running tab of who owes what in your heads gets old fast.

How it works

  1. Look at the example first

The sheet opens on a made-up couple, Robin and Quinn, with a full month already filled in. Click around and watch the numbers move. Then clear it.

  2. Pick your split on one tab

Enter your two names, your currency, your paydays and what you each take home each month. Then choose how to share costs: 50/50, by income, or your own percentage. In the example, Robin takes home $4,200 and Quinn $2,800. By income, Robin covers 60% of shared costs and Quinn covers 40%.

  3. Add what you spend

Each expense gets who paid it and whether it's shared. At the end of the month the sheet gives you one line, and you settle up.

Split by income, 60/40

Quinn owes Robin $172.00

Robin covers 60% of shared costs and Quinn 40%.

Split 50/50

Quinn owes Robin $488.00

Each covers half of shared costs.

Same month, two answers. They shared $3,160 of costs in October, and Robin paid $2,068 of it. The split is your choice. The sheet just does the math.
